| RepairMan is a program that manages the repairing of automotive paint defects. Defects are taken from a laser scanning system and processed in such a way as to allow automated repair of the defects using a robot. CAD data is used to allow the two dimensional data from the scanner to be transformed into three dimensional data for presentation to a robot. A calibration procedure is included which provides the link between the scanner's coordinate frame and the robots. There is an automated mask generation feature which is used to weed out unwanted data and to allow automatic classification of the defects. Data is collected and stored into a Microsoft Access database. Reports may be generated and viewed remotely while the system remains operational. |

RepairMan keeps a database of all paint defects that it finds.
The database that RepairMan updates can be accessed by a web server for live report generation over the web. A recent database has been placed on this web server. Try out the live demo by clicking the link below.
NOTE: This is a real live demo. You will see a real Microsoft Access query being performed on a database populated by RepairMan. The data is also real in that it was collected from real vehicles with real defects that were detected by a laser scanner. |
